You know how Oprah has those annual 'Oprahs Favorite Things' shows?
Well this is the first edition of 'Megs Favorite Thing'...singular.
My mom said something about having a headache yesterday evening. She went into the bedroom and got this odd looking flat thing out of a drawer and plugged it into the wall. Of course, I had to investigate.
While my brother was more interested in trying to chew through the cord, I wanted to see what the main contraption was all about.
Oh, and I am soooo glad I did.
This thing was so warm and toasty...almost hot. (And you know how I love being warm. When warm laundry is brought in...it's the best to try to sleep in.)

Peeping Tom.....Cat
My parents were still asleep. I was bored. I took a quick peek out the bedroom window and what did I see???
I saw that damn peach colored cat up in a tree peeking IN my window!
I started doing my little 'chirpy' noises, so mom woke up to see what I was crowing about. (I think she assumed, like me, that she would look out the window and see a bird or two. Not a kitty in a tree.)
'Peachy' looked all happy perched in that tree. I am still not quite sure how she got up there, since there aren't a lot of branches, but it looked fun.
We sat and stared at eachother for 10-15 minutes and then the fun was over. She jumped out of the tree down into the bushes below.
Maybe mom will invite her over for tuna sometime.

I don't get it....
WTF?
I don't know if I should laugh (yes, kittys can laugh) or go back and hide under the blankets.

What are YOU lookin' at?
I don't know WHY my mom keeps laughing at this picture. Aren't I cute? (Notice my little sister in the 'tube')

And they say I am the clumsy one.
My parents are always saying that my brother, Jack is the graceful one and I am a little spaz. Spaz...you can believe that? The nerve!
Anyway, this evening while my daddy and Jack were playing, Jack was doing his usual somersaults and jumping around, when he jumped in the air to catch his mouse and umm....came down head first on the floor. SMACK! The damn fool just kept on playing too, like nothing happened. I would've been so embarressed that you wouldn't have been able to pry me out of hiding for days.
A lot of things are acceptable for kittys these days, but landing smack dab on your head isn't one of them.
Now, I have dome some silly things in my time, but nothing that could leave me paralyzed.

Damn brothers!
So, the other morning, I was minding my own damn business, not doing much of anything when out of the blue, my brother, Jack just jumped on me and tried to literally bite my little head off. I swear that boy has ADD. He didn't just do this once...oh no....try about half a million times.
I finally had had enough and just growled at him and hid under my parents bookshelf.
Growling didn't stop him though. I growled and growled and it only seemed to provoke him more. (My mom said that the whole scenario reminded her a lot of HER brothers.) Finally my mom intervened and set me in her lap so she could protect me. (She IS good for something, I guess.)
Well, this morning Jack found an even more annoying way to antagonize me.
I was trying to umm....how do I say this....use my litterbox, when I see Jack come in, jump on the hood of our litterbox and start smacking me from on top.
Did you hear me? He started smacking me while I was trying to take a crap.

Minor in Possession
I just tried to break into my parents 'wet bar', but didn't succeed because I got inside and since it was dark in there, all I ended up doing was knocking over about a million wine glasses and my mommy caught me. i didn't have time to find the bottle of gin I was looking for that I know mommy hides in there either!

A New Trick
I recently discovered that I can...umm...what does my mom call it?....oh yeah, PURR.
Now, since the first day I was brought home, I knew I had my daddy under my spell. With this 'Purring' thing, I learned that I can now control my mommy too.
For some reason this little noise I make makes her all goo. People are so damn strange. My brother keeps telling me to use these newly found powers for good, not evil...but, I AM a black cat after all. **PURRRRRRR**

Cats gone....umm....tame?
Just to make our silly parents happy, me and my sister thought we would be nice and do something EXTRA cute for them. We didn't know they would pull out the damn camera.
My damn mom keeps blabbering on and on about how cute I am in the second picture, covering my gorgeous cheeks. (Her words, not mine) That woman is friggin' obsessed with my little kitty cat cheeks.

When Kitties Dream
Christmas is coming. Eventually anyway.
Me and Meg have been trying to decide which one of these things to ask our 'sucker' parents for.
Maybe one of each? We deserve it.

Kitty Translations
Our parents recently bought us a tent to play in. But I think our idea of playing and theirs are a little different.
When they say the word play, they think of 'hide and seek' or something lame like that.
When WE say play, we mean 'lets rip this MOFO to shreds!'
Other ways in which we differ?
When they say waterdish, they mean a place in which to store water for drinking.
When WE say waterdish, we mean a place in which to bathe ourselves and drown toy mice.
What? don't you other kitties out there dip your paws in the waterbowl to bathe yourselves?
When they say it's time for bed, they mean sleep.
Time for bed to us means it's time to chase eachother at full speed around the house, and run over the bed in which parents are trying to sleep about a million times.
When they say they have to go somewhere, it means them leaving the house.
To us it means, 'We better scream and throw a temper tantrum so they don't leave us alone.'...or possibly 'Let's be as cute as we possibly can be, so they feel guilty as hell about leaving us!'
When they say 'Are you hungry?' they mean, 'Here, have some DIET cat food.'
To us it means, 'Yeah, Hand over the treats, bitch!'
When we aren't in view, those silly people expect to find us sleeping on the bed or maybe even on the dining room table chairs.
Where we really are??
Hiding in the cupboard above the microwave
or maybe in the cabinet in the bathroom sleeping with the nice rolls of toilet paper.
